This report was published by the International REC Standard Foundation and it introduces Energy Attribute Certificates (EAC) systems, standards and markets.
The EAC scheme paves the way to accurately and reliably claim and trade energy usage and introduces standards and mechanisms for accounting how, where and when 1 MWh of electricity that is proven by a certificate was produced. The report also covers the legal and policy frameworks needed for the successful implementation of the EAC scheme with a comparison to the US Renewable Energy Certificate scheme, the European Guarantees of Origin scheme and other schemes.
The report concludes with a roadmap for establishing the EAC scheme in Lebanon taking into account the lessons learned from other national implementations. “
